PUSHË KRUJË - The police found last night the author of the killing of the two officers, the chief of the Fushë-Krujë police station, Gjergji Mema and Pëllumb Kofuzi, chief of crimes in Tirana. The car was shot near his home. He was in the car and had gotten out a few moments earlier. According to witnesses, a motorcycle with two people approached the car and fired bursts from an automatic weapon. Commissioner Mema was wounded in the leg. Yesterday it was said that a suspect had been arrested for the murder of the two policemen in Fushë-Krujë.

TIRANA - Not yet six years after the Përmet incident (insult-bomb?), another ugly desecration of an Orthodox place of worship has aroused surprise, anger, and deep regret throughout the country and in public opinion. This time the focus is on the Church of Saint Mary in Voskopoja, a rare example of religious architecture and a cultural monument, where icons and frescoes have been damaged. As in the case of Përmet, the question now arises whether we are dealing with an act of vandalism with political overtones, or with religious jealousy?

TIRANA - For three women, mother and daughter, the police have opened a file on the charge of keeping a brothel. According to the police, the women are suspected of engaging in prostitution and maintaining a home where clients were received. The case has sparked debate in court; a person presented as a “client” has been released, while the three women have been questioned. According to initial data, poverty is believed to be the main reason that pushed them toward this activity.
